Freak Nation Stories
|
From fanfic to original works, freaks are constantly writing stories of our own. Maybe it’s part of what sets us apart from other people: we’re not content with the same old stories that have been handed down since who-knows-when. We insist on creating new stories of our very own. Here are the stories readers have sent in to share. Naturally, if you’ve got a story or two of your own that you want the rest of the world to see, just send it to the webmaster. (It never hurts to read the submission guidelines, either.)

Nearly every Tolkien fan starts reading The Silmarillion at some point. Hardly any of them ever finish. This fanfic/screenplay-style adaptation tries to make it easier to get the story. Warning: it’s gleefully irreverent. Don’t read it if you can’t handle Elves and nobler creatures using four-letter words. Part 1 covers the Ainulindale, Valaquenta, and the first 12 chapters of the Quenta Silmarillion, up to the end of the Era of Valinor and the start of the First Age; roughly the first one-third of the full book.

What would happen if Colonel O’Neill called in the guys from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to make Teal’c over? Can even the Fab Five show this alien how to be sophisticated? Could Teal’c be taught how to make small talk? Or would his Hawaiian shirts cause poor Carson to have an aneurysm?
